So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him

    THANK YOU
Ben Hodge, son of Ray and Joyce Hodge, a US Army Chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel) in Iraq sent an email to First Baptist Church to thank the Simpson, Dorcas, and Fidelis Sunday School classes for buying, wrapping, and shipping 170 gifts which he distributed to the soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and civilian contract employees attending the Christmas services he conducted. Additional distributed gifts, raising the total to more than two thousand, came from Winston-Salem churches and civic clubs, where Ben’s National Guard 105th Combat Engineer Group is usually located. The gifts prompted the question, “Who sent all of these gifts to us?” and produced many smiles and not a few tears.

    HISTORY TIDBIT

On August 18, 1832 the church met to add thirteen new members, to elect Daniel Boon, David H. Bryan, and William Guy as deacons, and to call James Dennis as pastor.  Dennis was one of the three leaders of the protracted meeting, which led to the organizing of the church.  William H. Watson was elected clerk.
