THIS SUNDAY AT FIRST BAPTIST JOIN US FOR BAPTIST MEN’S DAY
This Sunday, a number of men will be leading us in worship through messages, scripture and prayers. Kim Johnson, Franklin Creech and Carl Lamm will be our speakers for the morning worship. Special music for the occasion will be provided by the Baptist Blend Quartet.

These men who are leading are but a small representation of the fine lay leadership which we have in our fellowship. It can be an exciting time in the life of our church as we share and reaffirm our faith with one another.

YOUTH NEWS
FBC Youth will meet Sunday, January 27 at 6:15 p.m. for Snack Supper followed by Bible Study at 7:00 p.m. Justin Hensley, Kevin Smith, Sean, Jonathan & Jeremiah David, Taylor & Trevor Haines, Courtney Holmes and Giovanni Loia are responsible for Snack Supper.

TRUE LOVE WAITS
The True Love Waits weekend will be February 1-3. The theme for the weekend is titled “Courting, Dating, and Hanging Out.” Youth will be staying at host homes for the weekend. The cost is $25*. You can still sign-up, call Tommy. This opportunity only comes around once every 3 years, so be sure to sign up! (*scholarships available!!)

SUMMER COLLEGE STUDENT MINISTRY INTERN
First Baptist Church is accepting resumes for a Summer Ministry Intern who will work with the Youth ministry and some of the children’s summer programming. Applicants must have completed their second year of college, have a sense of calling toward full time Christian Ministry, and be an active participant in at least one Christian organization at college. Interested students should forward their resume by mail, with a letter of interest and three references to First Baptist Church, 202 S. There will be a Relay for Life meeting Sunday, January 27th at 4:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for everyone who is interested in helping with Relay this year. 2008 NORTH CAROLINA BAPTIST MISSIONS CONFERENCE & CONVENTION

PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT
On Valentine’s Day, February 14, wouldn’t it be nice to take your special “Valentine” out for a quiet dinner without the kids? Well, here’s your chance. Let us watch the kids. FOR BAPTIST CHILDREN’S HOMES
Please plan to participate in the Annual Food and Supplies Drive for the Baptist Children’s Homes of NC on April 28 and 29. This year Johnston Baptist Association will donate paper products, cleaning supplies, and laundry detergent. Please begin gathering these items or if you or your class would like to begin saving to donate money, the Tharringtons will be happy to purchase these supplies for you.
