TRUE LOVE WAITS
This weekend our youth will participate in a
True Love Waits weekend.
The theme for the weekend is
“Courting, Dating, and Hanging Out.”
Early worship will be a True Love Waits Commitment Service featuring Aaron Hinton from Caswell. All are invited to join us.

Mark your calendar for February 10th for our annual Valentine’s Banquet.
Menu: Chicken, Tossed salad with assorted dressings, Rice, Steamed Vegetables, Chocolate Cake, Coffee/Tea.
Sign up in Sunday School or call the Church office.

FOR YOUR VALENTINE

Want to do something for that special someone on Valentine’s Day? Let us help. The Baptist Blend Quartet will deliver a “Singing Valentine” for you. The cost is a donation to the Baptist Blend Quartet fund. We will be limited to the Smithfield area. If you are interested please call the church office to sign up.

YOUTH NEWS
FBC Youth will NOT meet Sunday, February 3rd due to the conclusion of True Love Waits weekend.

Meet in the Fellowship Hall. Just bring yourself and a Bible. We will bus youth to the host home where lunch will be served and look at the book of James will be continued. (back at the church by 2:30 p.m.)

TRUE LOVE WAITS
The True Love Waits is this weekend February 1-3. The theme for the weekend is titled “Courting, Dating, and Hanging Out.” Please meet at the church at 8 p.m. for a “date movie,” or immediately following the basketball game. Bring: Bible, sleeping bag, pillow, change of clothes for the weekend, comfortable clothes for Saturday (we will be doing some traveling on Saturday afternoon, please dress appropriate for the weather), casual clothes for Sunday Commitment Service, drinks, snacks and breakfast food for the host homes. Note: Please inform Paul or Tommy if you need to leave this event during the weekend and arrange all transportation. The weekend will conclude with the Commitment Service Sunday morning at the 8:45 a.m. service. (Sunday School is optional for True Love Waits participants.)

BACK PACK MINISTRY UPDATE
Below is a schedule for packing backpacks for the Backpack Ministry:
• Week 1 – Wednesday, 6:30 p.m., Youth
• Week 2 – Thursday, 10:00 a.m., Lois M. Overby Mission Group
• Week 3 – Wednesday, 6:00 p.m., Mission Seekers
• Week 4 – Thursday, 11:00 a.m., Bible Study Day Group
• Week 5 – Wednesday, 6:30 p.m., Youth

Also, others are still needed for different tasks such as:
• Back Pack delivery from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday Mornings

PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT
On Valentine’s Day, February 14, wouldn’t it be nice to take your special “Valentine” out for a quiet dinner without the kids? Well, here’s your chance! Let us watch the kids. On February 14th from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. you can drop off your children in the K-1 Sunday School Room for pizza, crafts and games. The cost is $20 for the first child and $10 for each additional child. ANNUAL FOOD AND SUPPLY DRIVE FOR BAPTIST CHILDREN’S HOMES
Please plan to participate in the Annual Food and Supplies Drive for the Baptist Children’s Homes of NC on April 28 and 29. This year Johnston Baptist Association will donate paper products, cleaning supplies, and laundry detergent. Please begin gathering these items or if you or your class would like to begin saving to donate money, the Tharringtons will be happy to purchase these supplies for you.

RAFFLE TICKETS
Relay for Life will be selling Raffle Tickets. We have been blessed to have Jackie Jones, along with some other church members, make a quilt out of Relay T-Shirts.
