So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him

PRAYER CORNER FOR OPERATION IN AS MUCH
Heart to God - Hands to Man
The disciples walked and talked with Jesus on the road to Emmaus and they felt their "hearts burning within them"as He "opened the Scriptures" to them (Luke 24:32).
As he plants His call in our hearts to serve others, please pray:
• For commitment to meeting the needs in our community.
• For preparation of the hearts of those with whom we come in contact on that day.
• For organization and preparation of various projects.

A weekly prayer guide will be posted to the Prayer page of the church Website each Wednesday morning. http://fbcsmithfield.org Note: There will be a time of prayer for OIAM from 6:00 – 6:15 on Wed. evenings in the church library beginning this week. Please join us for focused prayer.

A LETTER TO FIRST BAPTIST

FROM KELLEY GARRIS

To the members of First Baptist, Smithfield:

On March 1, 2009, I accepted the call of First Baptist Church of Wilson to become their Minister of Music and Organist.

For twenty five years, since December of 1983, it has been my privilege to serve through worship leadership, rehearsals, program planning, trips, and many multi-faceted ways that all church staff ministers do. I have enjoyed the contact I have had with all ages, from the newest babies to our most seasoned saints. Now it is time for me to explore a new place of ministry which includes using my keyboard skills on a weekly basis, as well as applying all I have learned here to a new church family.

My last Sunday at First Baptist will be April 19, the week after Easter, and the following week I will be in transition as I pack and move to my new office in Wilson. My first day at work in Wilson will be April 27.

I am grateful to God for my years at FBC Smithfield. Our family will continue to live in Smithfield and be a part of the community here. I know I will continue to hear good things about the work He is doing through you.

Sincerely In Christ,

Kelley Garris

It’s that time again. Move those clocks up an hour before you go to bed Saturday night!

CONGRATUALTIONS
Congratulations to Chris and Katie Duty on the arrival of their infant sons, Davis Walker and Carter Michael. The proud grandparents are Carter and Liz Bearden.
