So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him

PRAYER CORNER FOR OPERATION INASMUCH (OIAM)
In Matthew 20:26-28, Jesus said whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave -- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Our prayer focus for OIAM this week is on having the heart of a servant as we reach out in our community to touch the lives of others. Pray that God will use us as we sacrifice our own interests to improve the life of another.

Dear Father, help us to take advantage of opportunities that you have placed before us on April 24th to serve others as the hands and feet of Jesus.

Visit the FBC Website and click on the prayer tab for the weekly OIAM devotional

RELAY FOR LIFE

Luminaries
Please remember to sign up on the Sunday School clipboards to purchase your luminaries for Relay for Life. We all know someone who has been touched by cancer so honor that person with a luminary. Luminaries can be purchased for $10, $25 or $100. Deadline for purchasing your luminaries is May 5. For more information, please call Carolyn Jones at 934-7742.

Pictures Needed
I want to do a bulletin board in recognition of Relay For Life and I need your help. If anyone in your family, our church family, has been diagnosed with cancer, I would love to have a picture for our bulletin board. This can be if they are fighting now, have been lost to cancer, or have won the race. I need the picture by May 1. Please leave your picture in the church office or get to me, Carolyn Jones. Thanks so much for your help.

CALL TO PRAYER
II Corinthians 8:7-8 "Now as you excel in everything - in faith, in speech, in knowledge, to all earnestness, and in the love we inspired in you -- see that you abound in this gracious work of giving also. I am not speaking this as a command, but I am testing the genuineness of your love."

There is a time when our faith and our actions intersect; when what we believe and what we do join together. Now that we have made a faith commitment and now that we have earnestly sought God's will in prayer, it is time to turn what we have learned into what we can do and will do. We are rounding third -- finding ways to practice what we believe.

"OK Lord, what have you equipped me and blessed me to do?" What resources do I have to give? Making faith real is a unique journey for every individual. Paul realized that he could not command anyone about giving. Giving has to grow from the heart, but he also knew that giving is a test of the heart in action. Giving is where 'what we believe gets real'. It is time to get practical about God's blessings in our lives and what we can (and will) do to financially support God's work in this project we have begun. Prayer: Lord, we have heard your word. Help us to be doers of your word. Submitted by the "Leadership Prayer Team"
