So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him
Hebrews 9:28 (NIV)

RELAY FOR LIFE LUMINARIES
Please remember to sign up on the Sunday School clipboards to purchase your luminaries for Relay for Life. We all know someone who has been touched by cancer so honor that person with a luminary. Luminaries can be purchased for $10, $25 or $100. Deadline for purchasing your luminaries is May 5. For more information, please call Carolyn Jones at 934-7742.

PICTURES NEEDED
I want to do a bulletin board in recognition of Relay For Life and I need your help. If anyone in your family, our church family, has been diagnosed with cancer, I would love to have a picture for our bulletin board. This can be if they are fighting now, have been lost to cancer, or have won the race. I need the picture by May 1. Please leave your picture in the church office or get to me, Carolyn Jones. Thanks so much for your help.

DESSERTS FOR MOM
Need a dessert for that special mother in your life? Look no more. On Sunday, May 9th Relay for Life will sponsor a Bake Sale in the Fellowship Hall. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life. Call Debbie Jones at 934-7861 if you could bake a dessert for this fundraiser.

ATTENTION SURVIVORS
The Survivor Banquest for Relay for Life will be held on Tuesday, may 18 at 6:30 p.m at JCC. Please let me know if you are planning to attend so I can turn in the number to the appropriate person. Hope to see all of our survivors at JCC on the 18th. Carolyn Jones

SYMPATHY
We express our Christian sympathy to the family of Wallace Ashley, III, in his recent homegoing.

THANK YOUS
Thanks to everyone who gave so unselfishly of their time, and to our church family for your continued loving support of the Baptist Children’s Home annual Food/Supply Drive. Although Harold and I were unable to be there due to hospitalization, our annual Food/Supply drive was again a success, thanks to many members of our church family! We thank God for Christian friends who responded to our call for help and worked two full days to make this drive a success.
Thanks, also, to Dr. David Johnson, President of JCC and members of the Truck Driving Training Program, to those of you who provided food and supplies; to several Sunday School classes and individuals who provided funds for us to purchase food; to Carl Lamm of WTSB Radio, and to Richard Upton of Zack’s for providing lunch for the workers.
Also
We are grateful for the many ways you have shown loving concern to Harold during this time. We know God answered your many prayers as Harold is making good progress now. You are a very special church family and we extend our loving appreciation to each of you. Harold and Carolyn Tharrington

Dear Church Family, Thanks so much for the many ways you have showed God’s love to us in the last few weeks during Bob’s surgery and recovery. All the cards, flowers, visits, food and most of all your prayers were really appreciated. We feel so blessed to be a part of this caring church family. May god bless you all. Bob and Linda Barefoot.

Dear Church Family, We, Seymour Taylor’s family, express our sincere thanks to you for being there for us during the past months. Your prayers, visits, acts of love in food, flowers and donations in honor of Seymour, cards, and calls have meant so much to each of us as we have accepted Seymour’s diagnosis, celebrated his life, and grieved our loss of a husband, father, and granddaddy. With your help, God’s love and grace are carrying us through this journey. Love in Christ, Vickie Taylor and family
