GUATEMALA SHARE
Please join us this Sunday, May 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary for a time of reflection and testimony from our Guatemala Mission Trip participants. Also, handmade purses from the Women’s ministry, Tabitha, in Guatemala were brought back. If you would like to purchase one, please come by the church office. They will also be available Sunday night. A donation of at least $20 is recommended.

YOUTH NEWS
FBC Youth Group will meet Sunday, May 3 at 6:15 p.m. for Snack Supper followed by Bible Study at 7:00 p.m..

RYBERG SCHOLARSHIP
Any high school senior interested in applying for the John L. Ryberg Memorial Scholarship should pickup an application from the church office. The deadline for submitting a completed application to the church office is Friday, May 8th. If applicants or their parents have any questions, please contact Mary Nell Ferguson at 989-8481.

FRIENDS OF CHILDREN DAY
Friends of Children Day at Kennedy Home is Saturday, May 2. Please join us for this mission opportunity to help the children and staff with yard work, washing windows and stocking supplies. We will leave the church at 7:45 a.m. and return early afternoon. Lunch is provided on campus where we can fellowship with the children. ALSO don’t forget to turn in your empty ink cartridges and old cell phones.

NC BAPTIST SINGERS
The NC Baptist Singers and Orchestra will present a worship concert in our Sanctuary on Monday, May 18 at 6:45 p.m. This group consists of over 100 Ministers of Music, organists, pianists and other church musicians from all over NC, including Kelley Garris. The Johnston Baptist Association is hosting them for this third concert they have presented here in the last ten years, along with our own church. Invite your friends and neighbors!

CHILDREN’S SAFETY COMMITTEE (CSC) UPDATE
The CSC continues to meet monthly in pursuing our purpose to “establish and recommend policies for the safety of our preschool, children, youth and their volunteers involved in these ministries of First Baptist Church Smithfield. In this month’s meeting we reviewed our church’s insurance/liability requirements. Additionally, we divided into subcommittees to examine the various aspects relating to our task. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact Michelle Ball, Brad Felts or Bryan Harris. There will be more information to come.
