So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him

THANK YOU
On March 17, 2006 our father, T.W. (Red) Shirley, suffered a severe stroke. Immediately our church family stepped in with support that extended through a full year with cards, prayers and verbal inquires. A wheelchair ramp was built by a team from our church, which made caring for him much easier. We consider this year a gift to our family as we were able to grow closer to each other, and to our dad. Our sincere thanks goes out to all for your support through this past year and his recent death. Douglas and Dianne Shirley, Tina and Joey Hobbs

MOTHER’S DAY OFFERING THANK YOU
The following is part of a letter received from Rev. Paul M Mullen, Director of Church and Community Relations at North Carolina Baptist Hospital:
“I am thankful to you and the members of First Baptist Church of Smithfield for being in the top 20 North Carolina Baptist churches (out of 4,078) in gifts to the Mother’s Day Offering. Patients and family burdened by need are profoundly blessed by your care and generosity. They have deep, heartfelt gratitude for this beautiful witness of Christ’s love. Every dollar of every gift helps patients in serious financial need pay hospital bills for care received at Baptist Hospital. They fall between the cracks, having too much to qualify for government assistance but not enough to provide for their care. The Mother’s Day Offering is a lifeline of hope.”

OPERATION INASMUCH THANK YOU
The snacks and soft drinks you left at Four Oaks Elementary were a real treat for me! Thank you for your generosity. May God richly bless each of you! Love in Christ, Devonne Mitchener
