So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him

The Visitor May 25, 2011 Printable version

The church office will be closed Monday, May 30, 2011 in observance of Memorial Day.

Kevin Crumley is a junior Music Education major at UNC-Greensboro.  His family, parents Margie and Rick, sister Nikki, grandparents Wanda Crumley and Bill and Vertie Perry have been involved in this church before he came into the world.  Kevin became a Christian when he was 10.  He is an actiive particapant in life and loves music, reading and helping others.

Taylor Smith is a junior at Campbell University majoring in Christian Ministry.  She grew up in Pine Level, but moved to Richmond, VA. where her dad, Kerry, serves as Youth Minister at North Run Baptist Church.  Taylor is the oldest of three children (Josh and John Mark) and her mom, Caroline, is a 3rd grade teacher.  Her grandparents, Kenneth and Joyce Smith, are members of FBC Smithfield.   She enjoys baking, riding, listening to music and mission trips.

Both Kevin and Taylor are grateful for an opportunity to serve at FBC Smithfield this Summer.  Youth will have an opportunity to meet and greet them both on Sunday, June 5 at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  We will have refreshments, games, and more!

YOUTH INFORMATION

FBC Youth Group will NOT meet Sunday, May 29th due to Memorial Day holiday.  Enjoy this time with your family.

Belize Supplies
On June 18-25, 31 youth, 5 college students and 14 adults will be going to Belize.  While there, we will have Vacation Bible School, as well as Medical and Construction Teams.  The cost of supplies (medical, crafts and games for VBS, food for our group and fans) adds up to about $2500.  If you would like, you could help us with getting these supplies we need in Belize.  There will be a bulletin board by the choir room where you can pull off a paper medicine bottle or luggage indicating that you can give $25 toward the youth mission trip supply needs.  Money can be placed in the offering plate (cash in envelopes and memos indicating BELIZE SUPPLIES) or taken to the church office.  Thanks for all your support and thank you for your continued prayers for our youth on mission.

YOUTH FUNDRAISER LUNCHEON
Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 12 for the Youth Fundraiser Luncheon following morning worship at 11:00 .  The menu is Loaded Baked Potatoes, Salad, Coffee, Tea and Dessert.  Sign up in Sunday School or call the church office.

THANK YOU
Richard and I would like to thank our wonderful church family for the many cards, calls, visits, food, but most of all for your continuous prayers during my recent hospital stay.  We truly believe in the power of prayer which we witnessed with my report, “No Cancer”!  Please continue to pray as we await the report regaring the infection.  Thank you again.  You all mean a lot to us.  Karen & Richard Brown
