ON
THE ROAD TO CASWELL
Monday, June 16th 80 youth and 12 chaperones will
gather at 9:00 a.m. to depart for a week at Caswell.
They will enjoy Bible study in the mornings, various
activities in the afternoon (sports, drama, sand
castle building, etc., free time) and Worship
each evening. Please be in prayer for our youth
as they travel, and that they may grow closer
to our Lord.

need mission hours? Come help in the Soup Kitchen
on Mondays. Please contact Boo Reynolds at 938-0639

also get hours for making desserts for us to serve.
IT’S
NOT TOO LATE TO SPONSOR A CHILD FROM MPOLONJENI
If you want to continue making an impact to the
community of Mpolonjeni in Swaziland, Africa,
you have an opportunity to sponsor a child. Just
$35 a month (a little over a dollar a day) benefits
a child in this AIDS-affected region, along with
his or her family and their community.

WAYS
YOU CAN HELP
VBS Needs
The following items are needed for VBS crafts:
Clean plastic jar lids from peanut butter or mayonnaise
jars (we need 104 sets of 2 matching lids),
Paper towel tubes (we need 104).
If you have any of these items you may put them
in a bin in the church office storage closet (small
copier room.)
Ice
Cream
Sign up in your Sunday School Class or call the
church office to bring your favorite, scrumptious,
sinfully delicious homemade ice cream on June
29th for Patriotic Vespers.
Household
Closet Needs You!
The Household Closet needs volunteers. If you
can volunteer time please contact Dianne Shirley
at 989-9659.
Drivers
Needed
We are so blessed to have people each week to
deliver meals to those less fortunate for the
Soup Kitchen and on holidays for Meals on Wheels.
Maybe you have been looking for a ministry to
get involved in. This could be it. If you could
give a few hours to help deliver meals, please
contact Harvey Evans at 934-7994. It doesn’t
have to be every week.
Make
plans to be a part of the biggest beach blast
of the summer! Outrigger Island will
be in full swing July 14-18 at FBC Smithfield.
We need lots of dudes and dudesses (that’s
guys and girls) to make this beach party happen.
Please contact the church office to sign up to
help. We have had EASILY 300+ for the last several
years. WE NEED YOUR HELP- from working in the
classrooms to snack time, many volunteers are
needed. Planning and preparation is in full swing.
So pull out your baggy shorts, flip flops, flowered
shirts and hit the beach with us for a week of
fun in the “SON” during our week of
Vacation Bible School, July 14-18.
RELAY
THANK YOU
I want to thank everyone who helped with our Relay
for Life team this year. The event was a tremendous
success. Thanks to all who contributed food, bought
luminaries, raffle tickets and purple bows, and
gave of your time and money. I thank God that
we had church members participate and come to
the event who had never done so before. I hope
that you were all touched as much as I was to
see the works of this very worthy cause. God bless
all of you and thanks again from the bottom of
my heart. Carolyn Jones, Team Captain, Kim Gibbs,
Co-Captain.
