YOUTH
NEWS CASWELL….IT’S HERE
All youth and adults going to Caswell will meet
Monday morning, June 18th at 9:00 a.m. Please
take your luggage to the U-Haul and hold on
to anything you wish to take with you on the
bus or vans. After your luggage is loaded, check
in at the entrance to the Sanctuary with Paul
Burgess (girls) or Emily Ward (guys). Parents
please make sure all balances are paid. We will
return by lunch on Saturday, June 23rd.
THE
LOWLY PENNY
As most of you know our youth are sponsoring
a village in Swaziland, Mpolonjeni, Africa,
one of the hardest hit areas by AIDS. One way
that we are trying to raise funds is to collect
pennies every Sunday before and after worship.
If you would like to bring your pennies (other
coins will work, too) our youth will be glad
to take them off your hands. Please help us
“stretch” our pennies to reach out
and touch this village.

THANK
YOU
I want to thank everyone who helped with our
Relay for Life. Those who gave money, donated
food and supplies, and those who came to the
college and helped with our concession booth
were greatly appreciated. I could not have done
any of this without your help and the guidance
of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May you
all be blessed by this as I have been blessed.
Thanks for everything. Carolyn Jones, Team Captain

the church office to bring your favorite, scrumptious,
sinfully delicious homemade ice cream on July

SYMPATHY
We express our Christian sympathy to the family
of Virginia Faulk in her recent homegoing.
MILITARY
PERSONNEL PHOTOS NEEDED
Did you serve in the armed forces or have a
family member (FBC Church Member) who is currently
serving? We would like to use their photos for
a tribute as part of the Patriotic Vespers on
Sunday evening July 1. Please bring a well marked
photo to the church office no later than June
18 (Monday). Note: If you turned in a photo
five years ago for a similar program (2002),
you do not need to bring it again. We still
have that slide program and can recycle it.

IT’S
TIME
Yes, it’s that time……time
for a new Church Directory. Olan Mills will
be here August 9 – 11, August 27 &
27 and September 6 – 8. Mark your calendars
for these dates. Families with college kids
plan your pictures early so your college kids
can be in the pictures. Sign-ups will begin
soon. Let’s get as many families represented
as possible and make this the BEST directory
ever.
BABY
SHOWER FOR TEEN MOTHERS
Back in the spring when we did Operation InAsMuch
we had planned to do a Teen Baby Shower. Due
to the amount of time it takes to plan and gather
all of the items needed for this project we
were not able to do it then. We’re ready
now! We’ve partnered with Social Services
and have the names of 15 teen moms that really
need our help. We need help gathering the essentials
and a few non-essentials to help get these babies
off to a good start. Also, we will shop for
you if you would like to make a donation for
the shower. We need 15 of each of the items
listed below:
The babies need:
-
Size 1 diapers
-
Baby wipes
-
Bottles
-
Bottle nipple refills
-
Baby wash and lotion
-
Diaper bags
-
Burp clothes
-
Pacifiers
-
Any new or gently used baby items (i.e. playpens,
bouncy seats, car seats, etc.)
The moms need:
-
Deodorant
-
Soaps
-
Lotions
-
Feminine hygiene products
-
Shampoo
-
Conditioners
Please
drop off your donations by or before July 3rd
in the church office. If you have any questions
or can help in any way please contact Susan
Culbreth 965-9141.
HAVE

Fellowship Hall? If you
