QUASQUICENTENNIAL
This year, our Baptist Children’s Homes
celebrates its Quasquicentennial (125 years!)
N.C. Baptists are becoming a part of history by
creating personalized tapestry squares which will
be tied together to make a huge “Growing
Hope” tapestry. I am thrilled that our 6th
graders will create squares in Vacation Bible
School this year. If you would like to decorate
a square, please call me at 934-3749 as I will
be ordering additional squares soon. Thank you
for your loving support of Baptist Children’s
Homes. Carolyn Tharrington

MISSION SERVE UPDATE
Mission Serve participants arrived at FBC Saturday
for heir week of Missions here in Smithfield.
The 140 participants, so far, have had a great
productive week, painting and working on roofs
during the day, and enjoying worship in the evenings.
Please continue to keep this mission team in your
prayers as they continued to minister here in
Johnston County.
PATRIOTIC VESPERS THANK
YOU
I would like to send a heartfelt thank you to
all those who served ice cream at this year’s
Patriotic Vespers. Your time and talents are much
appreciated and they served to make this festivity
an unforgettable one, especially as we honor our
brave men and women who have made and who continue
to make this nation of ours so great. Truly the
Fourth of July celebration is a time to reflect
upon the countless reasons we have to be so respectful
to our country’s finest, and I very much
appreciate everyone who contributed to make July
4th an evening that we, as both Christians and
American’s can all be proud of. With much
thanks and appreciation, Glenda Strickland
VBS
THANK YOU!
We had a wonderful week of ministry for children
two through sixth grade thanks to all the amazing
volunteers who were a part of Vacation Bible School.
I want to thank each one who put forth time, energy
and prayer so children could learn about our loving
God and experience Christian community. I want
to thank Taylor Leposa, as I somehow missed her
name on our VBS staff list! Ooops, sorry Taylor!
I appreciate everyone’s encouragement and
support of this ministry and praise God for the
seeds that were sewn.
Grace
and Peace, Bryan
