YOUTH
NEWS YOUTH ON MISSION
The U-Haul was loaded and the 85 youth and chaperones
gathered, prayed and departed for Chattanooga,
Tennessee for a week of ministering through
their work and testimony to those less fortunate.
Please be in prayer for these young folks for
safe travel and that they may touch the lives
of others as they give a week of their lives
for the work of our Lord.

AFRICA

I ? Mpolonjeni T- Shirts are available in the
church office. Sizes small, medium, and extra

(or more) to our Africa project.
ATTENTION
QUILTERS
I am looking for some quilters who might be
willing and able to donate their time to make
a quilt to be raffled off for our Relay for
Life team next year. I have my Relay T-Shirts
and would donate them for the project. Another
team did this last year. The quilt was beautiful
and it raised a lot of money for Relay. Anyone
interested, please contact Carolyn Jones at
934-7742.
SAVE
THOSE PENNIES
As most of you know our youth are sponsoring
a village in Swaziland, Mpolonjeni, Africa,
one of the hardest hit areas by AIDS. One way
that we are trying to raise funds is to collect
pennies every Sunday before and after worship.
If you would like to bring your pennies (other
coins will work, too) our youth will be glad
to take them off your hands. We will be collecting
through August. Please continue to help us “stretch”
our pennies to reach out and touch this village.
ATTENTION

HISTORY
TIDBIT
When S. L. Morgan came in 1923, he organized
the church by departments with a superintendent,
and made a written report each quarter of the
activities of the department. Deacons were to
be elected for a definite period with one group
of them expiring every two years.

THANK
YOU
Bob and I witness the magnificence and power
of God countless times and ways in our lives.
The time during my recent cervical surgery has
been no different. We are grateful and humbled
by His provisions and protection through the
hands and feet of His servants, our brothers
and sisters in Jesus Christ at First Baptist.
I have also been moved and comforted by numerous
women coming to our home to companion with me
during the day so Bob could return to work.
We shared our love for Jesus and testimonies
of His love and faithfulness, time I will always
treasure. All the prayers you lift up and different
acts of kindness sent by Him through you strengthen
us spiritually and physically daily and we are
so appreciative. Judy Dixon
WORLD
CHANGERS THANK YOU
Dear Christian Friends, We wish to thank you
for your hospitality of providing shelter for
our Youth while attending World Changers. Please
convey to the congregation words of greeting
and continued best wishes in your ministry.
