GET
EQUIPPED FOR MINISTRY
There’s always something to learn when it
comes to being effective for ministry. I encourage
you to come with me on Saturday, August 14th to
experience learning opportunities that can have
an impact on how you serve. There will be 66 conferences
for you to choose from. We will leave the church
@ 7:30 that morning traveling to Trinity Baptist
Church in Raleigh, returning around 1:00 p.m.
Call the office (934-9771) to sign up. Depending
on the number going, we can pitch in for gas and
take a bus or car pool. Go to www.raleighbaptists.org
for a full listing of conferences.
MEN'S
SALT BIBLE STUDY
We will resume our study in September. SALT stands
for Studying And Learning Together. You'll see
specifics concerning our fall study in the coming
weeks. Plan now to attend and enhance your spiritual
growth through the study of God's Word. If you
are interested or have questions, please call
Steve Adkins at 919-634-1742.
NOMINATING
COMMITTEE INFO…
Please continue to pray for the Nominating Committee
as they work to connect your gifts with ministry
needs. Everyone is necessary to the work of the
church. If you have an interest and have not been
contacted about a ministry opportunity, get in
touch with one of the committee members: Terry
Carroll, Anesha Johnson, June Ward, Judy Williams,
and Jay Wood.
Also,
please make the time to complete a ministry survey
form and return it to the office so the committee
can be aware of ways you would be willing to serve.
If you need a copy of the survey contact the church
office or go to our church’s unifier website.
IT’S
TIME AGAIN….
It’s time to start decorating Pine Cone
Christmas Trees. Date will be announced in the
upcoming weeks. If you are interested in helping,
please contact Anesha Johnson at 934-1601.
MEN
WITH TRUCKS NEEDED
Occasionally the Household Closet will get donations
of furniture, however, we have to turn down these
donations because we have no way to get them.
With that said…..we need a few men with
trucks who could be called on when we have large
items donated. If you can help, please contact
Dianne Shirley at 989-9659.
MINISTRY
CENTER UPDATE
Thank you to all those who have attended information
sessions and offered input into various areas
of the new “Ministry Center.” Currently,
plans are being produced by the architect and
engineers. We anticipate releasing plans for bidding
in mid-September and possibly start construction
in early November. Thank you for your support
and prayers of this project and we look forward
to serving others from this new facility.
WE
ARE BUILDING TO SERVE
Can you believe it’s already “back
to school” time for the children? Stores
are gearing up for back to school with supplies
that the kids will need. Here at First Baptist
we have ministries to help kids and their parents
through After School Care, Weekday Early Education
(Preschool), and the Back Pack Ministry. Through
our expansion into our new Ministry Center the
Back Pack Ministry as well as other ministries
and Sunday School classes will be able to expand.
Thank you so much for your continued support of
our Building to Serve campaign.
