This Sunday, September 19th we will have the opportunity to nominate individuals we would like to serve on our Deacon Board. On Sunday, September 26th we will elect Deacons from those nominated. Please be in prayer for the selection process and the individuals elected will serve our church as God would lead them.

BAPTIST WOMEN’S DAY
Baptist Women’s Sunday is coming Sunday, September 26th with leadership by the women of our church at both services.

ATTENTION YOUTH
FBC Youth Group will meet Sunday, September 19th at 6:15 p.m. for Snack Supper followed by Bible Study at 7:00 p.m. Leah Isenhour, Emily Blackmon, Libby Dotson, Will Denning, Justin Hensley, Garrett Massengill, Olivia Stevens, and Luke Williams are responsible for Snack Supper.

Busch Gardens Trip is Friday, September 24th. The cost is $65.00. Sign up and pay by THIS Sunday, September 19th. Cost includes your admission ticket, lunch in the park and transportation. Bring money for fast food on the way back and any additional food, drinks, or souviners you may want in the park. Make sure we have a permission form for you. We will leave at 6:00 a.m. (bring breakfast) and return around midnight.

COME JOIN US AT THE EIGHTH ANNUAL BECKY KNOTT MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Eighth Annual Becky Knott Memorial Golf Tournament is fast approaching. This year it will be held Friday, October 29th with tee off at 12:00 noon. Many individuals and businesses have sponsored this event each year and we appreciate their support. If you have been a sponsor in the past and plan to sponsor again this year, please contact the church office as soon as possible. If you have not participated in past years and would like to support our youth through this event, please come by the church office and pick up a brochure. Please pass this information along to friends or other businesses. ALSO, we will enjoy a pig pickin’ at the conclusion of the tournament, approximately 4:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. The cost is a donation to the Youth Mission Trip. Please come out and join us.

HYGIENE KITS NEEDED
The Clothes Closet is in need of Hygiene Kits for men and women. The kits should contine one each of the following itmes: regular size bar soap, deodorant, can of shaving cream, medium toothpaste, shampoo, small box of Band-Aids, tube of first aid-cream, small package of Kleenex, comb, small lotion, wash cloth, toothbrush, small package of disposable razors, fingernail file, hair brush. If you can help with this ministry, please assemble the items and place in an extra large zip lock bag and turn in at the church office. Thank you so much for your help. Clothes Closet Volunteers.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE TOUR 2010
The Make a Difference Tour 2010 featuring Max Lucado, Michael W. Smith, Third Day and TobyMac will be Sunday, October 30th at 7:00 p.m. at Crown Center in Fayetteville. If you are interested, please contact the church office. If we have enough interest, we will contact you and order tickets.

CALLING ALL WOMEN
A Women’s Choir will be singing for Baptist Women’s Day, Sunday, September 26th. We need all ladies who are interested in singing in the choir to join us for a brief choir rehearsal on Wednesday, September 22nd from 7:30 p.m. - 7:50 p.m..

BACKPACK PROGRAM
NEEDS YOU
We are looking for volunteers to help set up the backpack room on Wednesdays, deliver backpacks to South Smithfield and Selma Elementary on Friday mornings from 9:15 – 10:15, and pick-up empty backpacks on Wednesdays from South Smithfield Elementary only. We have approximately 100 backpacks that will be packed with food for children on the weekends. If you could help, please call Tommy at the church office at 934-9771.
ALSO
We need help with food items for the backpacks. The following items are needed: cans of spaghetti, ravioli, beanie weanies, vienna sausage, (small pop top cans would be great) non-refrigerated fruit cups or pudding, juice boxes, breakfast bars or pop tarts and peanut butter. If you can help in any way, please bring your food donations to the church office..

FRIENDS OF CHILDREN
Friends of Children Day at the Kennedy Home will be September 25th. We will be leaving from the church at 7:30 a.m. and will return by mid afternoon. We will help in the cottages, have lunch and attend a brief meeting. Everyone is welcome to go lend a hand. If you would like to go help and visit the children, please call Carolyn Tharrington at 934-3749.

PHONE PRAYER CHAIN UPDATE
The Phone Prayer Chain is seeking more people to participate in this ministry. If you would like to join one of our prayer chains, day or night, please call the church office at 934-9771.

PRIMETIMER’S UPCOMING EVENTS
JBA Fall Senior Adult Rally, September 21, 2010, at Beulah Baptist Church featuring Helen Little, retired school teacher, mission volunteer and advocate for the country of Haiti. Covered dish lunch provided. Call the church to sign up. We will leave the church at 9:15 a.m.
