FUNDRAISER LUNCHEON
The Youth will host a fundraiser luncheon Sunday, November 9th. The cost is a donation to the 2009 Youth Mission Trip to Brunswick, Georgia. The menu is: Chicken Pastry, Sweet Potato Casserole, Green Beans, Hushpuppies, Beverage and Dessert. Sign up in Sunday School or call the church office.

MISSION TRIP TO GUATEMALA
There will be a Mission Trip to Guatemala City during Spring Break, April 11 – 18, 2009 (date may change by a day or two) for a small group (approximately 15) The cost is $1,250 per person, which includes airfare. This trip is open to everyone. We will be helping with Vacation Bible School. Call Tommy if you are interested in going.

PRIMETIMERS TRIPS UPDATE
November 18 (Tuesday) “Star of Bethlehem” at Morehead Planetarium, Chapel Hill. Cost: $7 includes show ticket and gas. Call for availability.

December 8-9 (Mon-Tues.) Old Salem/Shoebox Packing trip. Cost: $78. Call the church office to sign up.

BAPTIST WOMENT’S DAY OF PRAYER
The Baptist Women’s Day of Prayer will be November 3, 2008 in the Fellowship Hall at 7:00 p.m. Let’s join the 2329 nation Baptist Women’s organizations around the world to pray for each other, the world and world leaders. All women are invited to attend. An offering will be collected for the BWA.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUTREACH AT CHRISTMAS
Angel Tree: Again this year we will be helping with the Angel Tree project. You can pick up an “angel” by November 23rd and return your gift to the church office by or before December 6th. We will also host the Angel Tree Party in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, December 13 from 10:00 a.m. until noon.

Operation Christmas Child: Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse where you can pack a shoe box with small toys, books, crayons, etc. for a boy or girl. If you would like to participate in Operation Christmas Child, information is located in the office. Please return your box to the office by November 16th.

WAYS YOU CAN HELP
Mission of Joy: Years ago my father received a Christmas tree made from a pine cone. He was so happy with his little tree. Join us for another Pine Cone Christmas tree decorating party Saturday, November 1, 9:00 – 11:00 in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your glue gun and glue sticks.

Mission of Clear Water: Clean, clear water is one thing we take for granted. In India this is an unreachable dream. Would you like to help someone drink a cup of clean, clear water? Please contact Anesha Johnson at 934-1601 for more information.

Peanut Butter for Backpacks: We are collecting 18 oz. jars of peanut butter for the Backpack Program. If you can help, please drop your donations at the church office.

CHURCH WIDE TRUNK OR TREAT!
Make plans with your family to have a blast at our FBC Trunk or Treat Sunday, October 26 from 4:00 – 5:00. The event will be in the parking lot across from Cecil’s Service Center. Each vehicle is responsible for its own treats, and tricks. Vehicle decorating will take place from 3:30 until 4:00; kids/parets will be allowed to wait in the fellowship hall during this time. Vehicles will be allowed to enter the parking lot from 3:30-3:45 only. Once a vehicle is inside the parking lot the vehicle must stay parked and engines off until all children have left the area.
