So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him
Hebrews 9:28 (NIV)

Peanut Butter for Backpacks: We are collecting 18 oz. jars of peanut butter for the Backpack Program. If you can help, please drop your donations at the church office.

RELAY TIME AGAIN
I would like to have a meeting on November 16 at 4:00 in the Fellowship Hall for anyone interested in working with our Relay team. This is just a time for brain storming to come up with ideas to make our team even better than before. Please come with your ideas. If you have questions call Carolyn Jones at 924-7742 or 631-5617

FOREIGN MISSION: CLEAN CLEAR WATER
Clean drinking water saves lives in India. Something as simple as clean water can mean the difference between life or death for babies, children and adults in Bihar, India. There are millions of people in small villages who are considered “outcasts.” They have no other water to drink but water infected with water born diseases, and contaminated with rotting leaves. A well offers clean water and the opportunity for pastors to share God’s love. Jesus said, “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.” One well costs approximately $700.00. Sponsor a village for approximately $2,800.00 (includes a well, Bibles, bicycle for pastor, hymn books and health clinics.) Pray about it and think about it when you drink clean, clear water.

MESSENGERS NEEDED
Baptist State Convention will be held November 10-12 in Greensboro, NC. If you would like to be a messenger, please contact the church office.

IT’S THANKSGIVING DINNER TIME
Thanksgiving is around the corner and we need help with cranberry sauce, green beans, rolls and desserts. If you can donate any of these items, please contact Anesha Johnson at 934-1601.

SYMPATHY
We express our Christian sympathy to Ruth Burnett and family in the recent homegoing of her sister.

We express our Christian sympathy to Doris Haas and family in the recent homegoing of her husband, Dick Haas.

We express our Christian sympathy to Jim Talton and family in the recent homegoing of his wife, Mary Talton.

We express our Christian sympathy to Jean Wiggs and family in the recent homegoing of her mother, Ollie Adams.

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON BIBLE STUDY
The Wednesday afternoon Bible Study will not meet next Wednesday, November 12. We will resume on November 19.

FLEA MARKET MINISTRY
Every Sunday morning at 8:00, children of all ages come to a small room at Brightleaf Flea Market ready to hear stories about Jesus, pray and to sing God’s praises. A small group of volunteers come at 7:45 to set up chairs, prepare nametags, play piano in the open area, and to start a Christian video for the children who arrive early. At 8:45 the volunteers leave to attend services at their church. WE NEED HELP! We need people that are willing to be in the room to assist with nametags, Bibles etc. The children speak English so language is not a problem. If you can come one Sunday a month or one Sunday now and then, please call Judy Williams at 934-0261. God is at work at the Flea Market and you will receive a great blessing by joining Him there.

2009 PROPOSED BUDGET
Enclosed please find the 2009 proposed Budget for First Baptist Church. We will have a Budget Presentation Meeting in the Fellowship Hall Wednesday night, November 12 after Family Night Supper.

NEW ARRIVAL
