On October 23, 1949, at the worship service held in the courthouse, $20,300 was collected for the building fund. Following the service, the congregation walked to the building site for the laying of the cornerstone. F. H. Brooks, Chairman of the Board of Deacons and W. J. Huntley, Chairman of the Building Committee, placed documents in the cornerstone, which was then sealed and layed.

Each year during Operation InAsMuch we have a baby shower for teen mothers and collect new or gently used items for them. We would like to collect these items throughout the year. As our little ones out grow their toys, clothes, and various other baby items, please feel free to donate these items to this wonderful ministry. If you have items you would like to donate please contact Susan Culbreth at 964-9141. Not only will we be able to help teen mothers, but hopefully we will be able to help other mothers who may be experiencing a hardship as well.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT
Thank you to all who are supporting my “Heart for the Homeless” Gold Award Project. I have received many generous donations for the Men’s Shelter and they have been over whelmed with your generosity. If anyone has a set of wall or base cabinets you no longer use and would be willing to donate to the shelter, please contact me at 934-5628. Thanks again, Mallory Barnes.

THANK YOU
Dear Church Family, Lou, Tommy, Sabrina and I wish to thank everyone for the visits, comforting words, hugs, flowers, food, memorials and the many cards of encouragement, but more especially the prayers. We have had so many people praying for us. I believe it’s the only thing that’s kept us going. It’s so hard to put into words how your love, comforting words of encouragement and prayers have been so helpful in our time of sadness. Grover, Lou, Tommy, Sabrina, Tyler and Thomas Dees
