THIS SUNDAY AT FIRST BAPTIST JOIN US FOR BAPTIST MEN’S DAY

This Sunday, a number of men will be leading us in worship through messages, scripture and prayers. Wallace Ashley, III, Jay Wood and Steve Adkins will be our speakers for the morning worship. Special music for the occasion will be provided by the Baptist Blend Quartet and the Men’s Chorus.

These men who are leading are but a small representation of the fine lay leadership which we have in our fellowship. It can be an exciting time in the life of our church as we share and reaffirm our faith with one another.

YOUTH NEWS
FBC Youth Group will meet Sunday, 25th 6:15 p.m. for Snack Supper followed by Bible Study at 7:00 p.m Mallory Barnes, Elizabeth & Wallace Ashley, Bryan Council, Regan & Morgan Gatlin, Tori Southerland, Annie Watson, Emily Wood and Parker Wood are responsible for Snack Supper.

2009 FBC Smithfield All Youth Mission Trip, Brunswick, GA - July 19-25, 2009 - The 2009 Mission Trip to Brunswick, GA is special, because it will be an exclusive Mission Trip for the Youth of FBC. Everything from the meals to supervision of the home construction will be put in place by FBC Smithfield members. A fun experience will be our gathering times at night, which will include worship and fun group activities, like games and talent shows. This Mission Trip is available to all youth (7th –College). The cost for this trip is $100 per person. Below are the expectations for all participants who wish to join the FBC Youth mission trip for the summer of 2009:
Needed: 15 HOURS OF COMMUNITY MISSIONS, FUNDRAISER PARTICIAPTION (Parents and Youth), PRE-PROJECT STUDY (a 6 week study starting Feb. 20) PAYMENT - Cost $100 – $50 due in NOW and balance due April 26.

ATTENTION MEN
Men from the Young Adult Sunday school classes are invited to a Bible study on Tuesday nights at 7:00 in the youth room. Join us as we work our way through the Bible, strengthening the bonds we share with the Lord and with each other. The study is relaxed in nature and usually ends around 8:15. RELAY FOR LIFE MEETING

SUMMER COLLEGE STUDENT MINISTRY INTERN
First Baptist Church is accepting resumes for a Summer Ministry Intern who will work with the Youth ministry and some of the children’s summer programming. Applicants must have completed their second year of college, have a sense of calling toward full time Christian Ministry, and be an active participant in at least one Christian organization at college. MITCHINER SCHOLARSHIP
The Johnston Baptist Association Woman’s Missionary Union Mitchiner Scholarship is accepting applications from seniors (boys or girls) in the Baptist churches in the Johnston Association. Applications are available in the church office and need to be completed and received in the Johnston Baptist Association office by March 16, 2009. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
