Dear Members of First Baptist, I
attended your Holy Week portrayal. I was tremendously
moved. I felt I was there, witnessing every part of
Jesus’ suffering. You made that last week of Jesus’
life come alive. I am carrying that message in my heart.
Sincerely, Dorothy Onisko

Two copies of Just Call me Mickey,
written by the late Wint Capel, have been given to the
church library. This book is a compelling story about
Michael C. Blackwell’s journey from a humble mill village
in Gastonia to leader of the largest private children’s
homes organization in the Southeast. Just Call Me Mickey
demonstrates how high a person who is called by God to
a special ministry can rise. It is about the powerful
influences of family, church and community and about what
God-inspired hard work, imagination, enthusiasm and creativity
can accomplish. Drop by the library and check it out.
It is a book you will want to read.
Our GA’s joined in and collected
money for our March Annie Armstrong Offering. Together
they collected $107.87.
