YOUTH NEWS
MIDDLE SCHOOL BIBLE STUDY for middle school youth will meet on Monday, July 24 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the home of Muriel Lasater. (12 Randers Ct., Smithfield, Tel. 934-989-8674.)  ***If you need a ride, be at the church parking lot at 6:45pm.

HIGH SCHOOL OUT ON THE TOWN meet at the church Thursday, July 27 at 6:30 pm. Bring money for dinner and a movie downtown.

CASWELL REFLECTIONS
Join us this Sunday, July 23rd  at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary for reflections from our week at Caswell.

UPDATE ON VBS CRAFT REQUEST
VBS 2006 is rapidly approaching, and we are still significantly short of the number of 2.5 oz. baby food jars needed for crafts.  PLEASE continue to bring those jars to the Preschool Room I or the church office.  We are also still looking for 1 adult (male or female) to assist the school age children with crafts during VBS.  Call Renee Wooters (934-5252) if you're interested!

VBS REGISTRATION
If your child will be attending Vacation Bible School, even for a partial week, you can go to our website, fbcsmithfield.org, under Education and print out the information card, complete it and bring it with you on your child's first day of VBS. You may give the card to the VBS teacher assigned to your child’s class.  This will save you a lot of time.

ON MISSION
Experience the Joy of Missions at Ridgecrest September 29-30. There will be great motivational speakers, workshops, wonderful music and Disaster Relief training. Call Sybil Edwards or Anesha Johnson to sign up. Let’s go and learn more about Missions.


ATTENTION 3RD – 6TH GRADERS
MARK YOUR CALENDARS

For September 15 – 17 to go to Camp Oak Hill. The theme this year is “Hey God!” On this weekend retreat we will enjoy Bible study, camp activities, worship, fun and fellowship. The cost is $80.00. You may pick up your registration form in the church office. Registration, 2006 permission forms and monies are due by Sunday, August 20th.


MUSIC NOTES

Camp Crescendo (Children’s Choir Camp) is August 7 – 11 for children who have completed grades K – 6.  The theme this year is “Creation Sensation. Registration forms have been mailed.  They are also available in the church office.  Deadline to register has past.  Contact Kelley to you want to register.

COUNTRY MUSIC SHOWCASE OUTING
All persons are invited to attend "Amazing Grace," a gospel music style program of the local Country Music Showcase, at the Saturday afternoon matinee August 12 at 2 pm. at the Paul Johnson Auditorium.  Cost is $5.00 per ticket.  Sign up and pay at the church office by Monday July 24.  We will buy tickets as a group but will meet at the auditorium that day before the program to get our tickets (not travel as a group from the church).

HOUSEHOLD CLOSET NEEDS
The Household Closet is BARE!  We need all items: sheets, dishes, flatware, pots and pans, bath and kitchen towels, blankets…….any household items in good repair will be appreciated.  You may drop off you items in the area beside and in front of the elevator.  Please label them for the Household Closet.   Thank you, Dianne Shirley
