Dr. Michael Cogdill,
Dr. Michael Cogdill serves as our Transitional Pastor at FBC. His career has included serving as a Professor of Religion at Campbell University for 36 years, fifteen of which he was the Founding Dean of the Divinity School. Dr. Cogdill has served over 20 churches in North Carolina as Transitional or Interim Pastor.
Dr. Cogdill is married to his wife, Gail, a retired Harnett County School educator. They have two children and four grandchildren. Dr. Cogdill enjoys golf and other sports.
Minister of Music
Braxton Kubasko serves as our Minister of Music at FBC. He has previously worked at churches around North Carolina and in Texas while attending High Point University for undergraduate studies and seminary at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He holds degrees in Communications and Vocal Music from HPU, an Masters of Sacred Music from SMU, and a Masters of Theological Studies from Dallas Baptist University.
Braxton is married to his wife, Mallory, a realtor in the areas surrounding Raleigh and Durham, and they enjoy spoiling their dog, Mollie.
Minister of Youth & Education
Brian serves as our Minister of Youth and Education here at FBC. Brian is a recent graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Masters of Theology in Historical Theology.
Brian is married to his wife, Natalie, an occupational therapist with Johnston County schools, and they have two dogs, Kyah and Apollo.
Brian enjoys reading historical and biographical books, being active outside, traveling, drawing, and genealogy.
Children & Families Ministry Coordinator
Amy serves as the coordinator of our Children & Family Ministry here at FBC. She has been a member at FBC for many years before assuming her role. Amy enjoys sharing ways that families can build a foundation of faith in their homes.
Amy and her husband, Bill, have 2 sons, 4 grandchildren, and a chocolate lab named Bailey. They love visiting state and national parks, hiking, Kerr Lake, and finding beautiful places in God’s creation.

Margie serves on our Administrative Staff here at FBC. She grew up at First Baptist, accepted Christ and was baptized by former pastor, John Ryberg. She has been employed at FBC since 1998. Margie has dual A.A.S. degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from Johnston Community College.
Margie and her husband, Rick, have two grown children, no grandchildren but several granddogs and grandcats! She enjoys reading and traveling to car shows with her husband.
