We firmly believe music and worship are an integral part of the worship experience here at First Baptist. Every Christian has a part to play within the church family, and God has given each of us certain talents (I Corinthians 12:4-6) that we are to use for His glory and honor. Our main goal, then, is to have everyone be involved musically and artistically in our congregation! If you have ways in which you feel called to serve, welcome to First Baptist - we have a place for you here!
SANCTUARY CHOIR
Our Sanctuary Choir helps lead us in worship weekly! Contact us below or come and join us on Wednesday night in the Choir Room! No audition is required - all you need is a good ear and the ability to work hard and learn!
YOUTH MUSIC
For those who wish to serve with all the talents that God has gifted them and have a love for modern worship music, we invite you to join us in leading music as a part of our Worship Team. Our worship team leads worship for our "GLOW" Youth Group meetings on Sunday night, our Thursday night Services, and on some Sunday morning services.
Currently on Summer Break.
HANDBELLS
First Baptist Church has been blessed with a rich history of handbells.
Since 1967, our Praise Ringers Handbell Choir has been using their talents to provide music for worship as well as for community events throughout the year! This group is our higher level group and represents our church at the NC Baptists' PraiseRing convention every year. Rehearsals are on Sunday nights from 6-7:20pm.
Our First Baptist Bells group is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to learn handbells or playin a casual environment. This group still plays at occasional worship services!
MUSIC FOR CHILDREN
Our children are a gift to us and they are each gifted with talents in music and art that we want to nurture so that they can praise God with their whole being!
Our Preschoolers love to move and make music on Wednesday nights as they learn songs, rhymes, and movement & rhythm! They also learn through hands-on activities, stories, prayer, and teaching about Go's love and how others need to hear this good news here and everywhere! Join us as we sing, move, pray, and do mission projects together!

Our children in grades 1-5 learn music and teachings that not only inform them about the love and grace of God, but they also help lead us in worship throughout the year with their gifts of music and art that bless our worshippers and community all while learning about what it means to be a Christian, and how they can know and follow Christ.
